Construction

Fairstitch welt construction, an exceptionally strong form of footwear construction, also known as a stitch and sewn construction. The one-piece upper leather is cement lasted around the leather insole. A carbon fibre shank is then glued in and the bottom is cork filled. The leather midsole is then glued and Blake stitched through the upper and insole. The sole then gets glued to the bottom of the boot. The outsole stitched as well as screwed using Brass screw nails. Harold Boot Company then also brass wire screw the sole through the sole, midsole as well as upper to the insole. This gives an extra-strong sandwiching effect to strengthen the boot. The heels then glued and Brass screw nailed to the boot.  This construction is so strong and comfortable that these boots a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing fault.

Materials

The Harold Boot Company insists on using only the finest materials (preferably Australian made) in all products and constructions. They only use Australian steer hide in their footwear as the grain structure is one of the best in the world for this sort of footwear. Being mainly English or European breeds prevents early cracking in the uppers of the boots and shoes.

The soles, as well as heels made of a cork rubber compound, give exceptional grip and durability. In most cases, the boots wear out before the sole does. Being of natural rubber, it allows for a sponge-type feel under your foot acting as a slight shock absorber whilst the Counters (heel stiffeners), also leather allows the heel to mould to the shape of the heel.

The insoles, as well as midsoles, also made of a butt leather soling material, meaning the insole and midsole will shape themselves to the shape of your foot giving extreme comfort and durability. The insoles are laminated with a material called Poron which is a fully breathable foam membrane. This being built into the boots means the feel under the foot is always soft and comfortable. Being an all leather product, the boots breathe well keeping feet dry and comfortable.
